A subscription system is being planned for WhatsApp
Over the years, numerous fake mass messages have circulated claiming that WhatsApp would soon become a paid service. However, none of these claims have ever been confirmed. Moreover, it appears that the platform’s core services will remain free going forward as well. That said, recent reports suggest that WhatsApp may introduce a premium subscription tier in the near future.
According to the information available, this service will be called WhatsApp Plus. It is reported that the new tier will offer users more extensive customization options within the app. These may include additional choices for changing the app’s theme, icon, and accent colors, as well as 14 new icons, various color alternatives, and different interface elements.
In addition, the premium subscription may allow users to pin more chats. While the current limit stands at three pinned chats, the new tier is rumored to increase that number to 20. It is also said that exclusive subscriber-only ringtones will be included. In the future, this package may also expand to offer special stickers and other additional features.
For now, there is no official information on when the service will launch or how much the subscription will cost. More details are expected to be shared as they become available.
