Apple has released iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1.

Apple today released iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1. Although the version numbers indicate a minor update, this release adds an important feature for both iPhone and iPad.

The update adds support for the second‑generation AirTag tracker — this model includes a new UWB chip enabling Precision Finding, allowing you to locate tracked items from 50% farther away. The AirTag also has an improved Bluetooth chip with extended range and a speaker that’s 50% louder. With iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1 you can now manage the second‑gen AirTag. Official notes also mention unspecified bug fixes.

To install the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update on a compatible device — the download should start automatically.
