Apple’s Next Move: What’s New in iOS 26.1 Beta 4

Apple has released the next beta version of iOS 26, aiming to offer iPhone users a more personalized and stable experience. The new update brings notable improvements in both design and performance.

Last September, Apple introduced iOS 26, described as one of the biggest iPhone updates to date. Now, users have been eagerly waiting for its first major upgrade — iOS 26.1. After the first three betas, the fourth version, iOS 26.1 Beta 4, is now officially available for testing.

What’s New?

Liquid Glass design customization: One of the most remarkable changes in this version is the ability to enable or disable the new “Liquid Glass” design on iPhones. If the transparent or semi-transparent interface feels distracting, users can now switch to a “colored” option in settings to adjust the opacity level of background elements.

Camera swipe deactivation on lock screen: A long-requested feature is finally here — users can now disable the swipe-left gesture that opens the camera from the lock screen, offering more control over quick access functions.

Other improvements and fixes: This beta also includes various bug fixes and system optimizations to improve stability. For example, the name “Apple TV+” has been shortened to “Apple TV”, new language support has been added for AirPods Live Translation, and Turkish language integration has been spotted in Apple Intelligence.

When Will It Be Released?

According to reports, the public release of iOS 26.1 is expected by the end of October for all users.
