First details of Xiaomi’s mysterious rear-display smartphone

First details of Xiaomi’s mysterious dual-screen phone leaked

Xiaomi is returning to the dual-screen smartphone concept after the Mi 11 Ultra. Recent software leaks suggest that the company is working on a new model with a secondary screen on the back panel.

In the latest version of HyperOS, a device codenamed Pandora, with the model number Q200, was discovered. The leak confirms the presence of a rear-integrated second display, which may offer more functionality than the small screen used in Mi 11 Ultra.

The Q200 is expected to be positioned as a flagship in the Xiaomi 16 series. While Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro may target compact phone users, the Q200 is likely to come with high-end specs, possibly surpassing the Xiaomi 16 Ultra and redefining Xiaomi’s approach to Pro models.

Though no launch date is officially confirmed, the device is expected to debut in September alongside Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro. It will first launch exclusively in China, with a global rollout expected in early 2026. Xiaomi has previously tested innovative models in its domestic market first, adding weight to this theory.

No technical specs have been shared for model number 25098PN5AC yet. However, references to “sub-screen” in the firmware show that Xiaomi is seriously reconsidering the dual-screen concept. While Mi 11 Ultra’s rear display didn’t attract much attention back then, this time a more practical and functional design may appeal to consumers.
