iPhone 17 Series Officially Unveiled!
iPhone 17 Official: 120Hz Display, Dual 48MP Cameras, 256GB Storage
At Apple’s big event, the spotlight may have been on the ultra-thin iPhone Air, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max carried the most powerful features. Still, the standard iPhone 17 was officially unveiled — and it’s a meaningful upgrade.
The phone features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion (adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz), marking the first time for a non-Pro iPhone. This also enables Always-On Display functionality.
Apple has equipped it with the new Ceramic Shield 2, offering 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare. Peak brightness reaches a record 3,000 nits, with outdoor contrast twice as good as the iPhone 16.
Under the hood, the Apple A19 chip built on a 3nm process delivers a CPU that’s 1.5x faster and a GPU that’s over 2x faster compared to the A15 Bionic in the iPhone 13.
The iPhone 17 supports Apple Intelligence, a refined Neural Engine, up to 30 hours of video playback, and can fast charge to 50% in 20 minutes with the new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
Connectivity is powered by the Apple N1 chip, adding Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, boosting reliability for AirDrop and Personal Hotspot.
Camera-wise, the iPhone 17 introduces dual 48MP rear cameras — a main and an ultrawide with macro. The main sensor offers 2x optical zoom, while the new Bright style in iOS 26 enhances skin tones and vibrancy.
The iPhone 17 starts at 256GB for $799, available in lavender, mist blue, sage, white, and black. Pre-orders open September 12, with launch on September 19.
