Xiaomi 17 Series Launching This Month!

Xiaomi has officially announced that it will skip the 16 lineup and instead unveil the 17 series to directly rival Apple’s iPhone 17 series.

According to company president Lu Weibing, the launch will take place later this month, introducing the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

The biggest highlight is that the new lineup will be the first to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. The base model is also expected to deliver significant improvements without a price hike. For reference, the Xiaomi 15 launched in China starting at CNY 4,499 ($630).

Xiaomi 17 Pro is described as the “most powerful compact imaging flagship,” while the 17 Pro Max is set to become Xiaomi’s most powerful flagship.

Rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max could come with a secondary rear display. Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi 17 is expected to sport a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, a 7,000mAh battery, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
